Prunus / Cherry
Prunus 'Amanogawa' / Flagpole Cherry
Small column tree. Ideal for a small garden with clusters of large fragrant single or semi-double shell pink flowers. Leaves bronze turning green into summer turning yellow in autumn. Often used for small spaces.
Prunus avium 'Plena' / Cherry
Medium tree. Long lasting double white flowers. Leaves mid green to dark, turning yellow, orange and crimson in autumn. This is one of our favourite trees. The flowers adorn the branches. A very noticeable specimen.
Prunus cerasifera 'Pissardii Nigra' / Purple-leaved Plum
A small purple leaved tree. Flowers early spring a mass of pink in bud and pale pink flowers. A massed branched deciduous tree sometimes used for screening. A very easy tree to grow. Will stand hard pruning. Also produces plums when the tree feels like it, so not a regular fruiting tree.

Prunus dulcis / Almond
Small spreading tree with clear pink flowers in early spring. Green foliage turning yellow and orange in autumn. The added advantage is cropping the nuts when ripe.
Prunus 'Kanzan' / Double pink Cherry
Small spreading tree with large double pink flowers in bunches April-May. Green foliage turning yellow-orange in autumn. Has to be a very popular tree because of the size of the flowers.
Prunus 'Kiku-shidare Sakura' / 'Cheal's Weeping'
A very small tree. Double rose pink flowers in April cover the branches. Leaves come out bronze\green turning glossy green later. Autumn colour yellow and orange. Habit - weeping branches to ground, creating an interesting shaped tree.
Prunus 'Okame'
Flower masses of carmine-rose flowers throughout March. This is an excellent tree. Green leaves turning yellow\orange in the autumn.
Prunus' Pandora' / Cherry
A splendid small tree with ascending branches are covered with pale shell pink flowers in March and April. Leaves opening bronze turning red\green in spring, green in summer and yellow\orange in the autumn.
Prunus 'Royal Burgundy'
A small spreading tree with deep purple foliage during the summer turning bronze\red in the autumn. Double pink flowers in May. A purple sport of Prunus 'Kanzan' but a less vigorous grower.
Prunus serrula / Tibetan Cherry
Small spreading tree. The outstanding mahogany\red new bark is the main feature of this tree in the winter when all the leaves are off. Mid-green leaf turning red\orange\yellow in the autumn. The white flowers are very small but appear with and are virtually concealed by the narrow willow like leaves in April.
Prunus 'Shirofugen'
A small tree. Flowers adorn the tree in late spring. Pink in bud opening to double white turning pink again. It is vigorous and wide spreading tree. Leaves coppery when young turning green. Autumn foliage is yellow\orange.
Prunus 'Shirotae' / Mount Fuji Cherry
A small spreading tree with wide-spreading horizontal or slightly drooping branches. Flowers single to semi-double, fragrant snow white in large clusters amass this beautiful tree. We are often asked what variety this tree is when in its full state of flowering as it is so noticeable.
Prunus subhirtella 'Autumnalis Rosea' / Winter flowering Cherry
A small tree with semi-double pale pink flowers from November to March on bare branches. Green foliage turning shades of orange\yellow in the autumn. Ideal for small gardens.
Prunus subhirtella 'Pendula Rubra'/Pink flowering Cherry
A small compact weeping graceful tree. Flowers semi-double rose coloured. Carmine in bud green leaves turning yellow\orange in the autumn. Ideal for a small garden. Can be pruned to restrict width.
Prunus 'Tai Haku' / Great white cherry
A medium to large tree. Pink buds followed by very large white, dazzling flowers. Rich coppery-red young leaves turning green in summer and turning yellow\orange in autumn. Often known as the Great White Cherry.
Prunus x yedoensis/Yoshino (Japanese) Cherry
A small, wide spreading tree. Green leaves turning yellow\golden in the autumn. Flowers are almost white with pink stamens with a slight scent of almonds.
