Acer palmatum Okagami is a stunning, small, upright, slow-growing deciduous shrub or small tree with deeply lobed palmate foliage. Bright red-purple leaves emerge in spring, gradually turn blackish-red or plum-purple, then take green tints in summer, and finally become scarlet red in autumn. Small, inconspicuous, red-purple flowers are followed by winged purple fruits. Okagami maple prefers fertile, moist, well-drained soil. The best leaf colour is achieved if grown in sunny position, but in partial shade. Although hardy, it needs to be sheltered from strong winds. Easy to care for, it requires very little pruning. Lack of soil moisture or excessive exposure can cause leaf scorch. Acer palmatum Okagami is very decorative tree and perfect as a focal point. At first upright, it starts spreading later, creating a beautiful vase-shape habit with stunning red foliage. Great choice for cottage and urban gardens, suitable for growing in containers and pots.

About Us

During this time, we have developed a large stock of trees, mature evergreen shrubs, conifers, Japanese maples, cedars and olives. What sets us apart from a generic garden center is solid unwavering focus on trees and some bigger shrubs. You will find thousands of trees, hundreds of varieties and lots of experts who are working on the nursery and more than willing to help you to choose a plant for you.

What you will not find is hot tubs, garden furniture and plastic garden gnomes. In a nutshell, trees is what we know and trees is what we do, and only trees (and some shrubs to go with the trees).
