Campsis ‘Madame Galen’ is a large, vigorous, woody, self-clinging, deciduous climber with areal roots, and compound, odd-pinnate, glossy green leaves with small ovate leaflets. Trumpet-shaped, salmon pink to orange-red flowers grow in loose clusters throughout summer and autumn and are very attractive to hummingbirds. Flowers are followed by bean-like seed pods. Trumpet Creeper 'Madame Galen' is very easy to grow. It is adaptable to a wide range of soils, but prefers average, lean, moist, well-drained soils in full sun to partial shade. The best flowering occurs in full sun. It is tolerant of drought, heat and cold. Late frosts may damage the flower buds. Generally, pest-free and disease-free. It can be very invasive so the problem is how to restrain it. Campsis ‘Madame Galen’ is a vigorous climber and needs sturdy structures to support the mature plant. Grows best along fences, arbours, trellises, and walls. It can be a good as a ground cover.

Arundel Arboretum is a shrub and tree retail nursery with over 40 years of experience.

About Us

During this time, we have developed a large stock of trees, mature evergreen shrubs, conifers, Japanese maples, cedars and olives. What sets us apart from a generic garden center is solid unwavering focus on trees and some bigger shrubs. You will find thousands of trees, hundreds of varieties and lots of experts who are working on the nursery and more than willing to help you to choose a plant for you.

What you will not find is hot tubs, garden furniture and plastic garden gnomes. In a nutshell, trees is what we know and trees is what we do, and only trees (and some shrubs to go with the trees).
