Clematis Armandii is a large, vigorous, fast-growing, evergreen climber with long, leathery, glossy, dark green leaves. Sweetly-scented, star-shaped, creamy white flowers appear in clusters in early spring and are followed by plumed seeds. It’s a woody vine that climbs by twisting stems and petioles. Armand Clematis prefers rich, neutral, moist, well-drained soils in full sun. Its roots should be kept cool, shaded by other plants. It doesn’t tolerate cold, dry winds. Low maintenance, it requires very little pruning. Its blossoms attract bees, butterflies, and hummingbirds, but the plant is toxic to animals. Clematis Armandii is an attractive climber with lovely scented flowers. It should have a support for climbing – trellis, arbour, pergola or a rock wall. It can serve as a living privacy screen. Great to be planted near a doorway, patio, or along a path, where one can enjoy its charming flowers and beautiful vanilla fragrance.

Arundel Arboretum is a shrub and tree retail nursery with over 40 years of experience.

About Us

During this time, we have developed a large stock of trees, mature evergreen shrubs, conifers, Japanese maples, cedars and olives. What sets us apart from a generic garden center is solid unwavering focus on trees and some bigger shrubs. You will find thousands of trees, hundreds of varieties and lots of experts who are working on the nursery and more than willing to help you to choose a plant for you.

What you will not find is hot tubs, garden furniture and plastic garden gnomes. In a nutshell, trees is what we know and trees is what we do, and only trees (and some shrubs to go with the trees).
