Convolvulus cneorum is a lovely, small, dense, spreading evergreen shrub with silky, oblong, narrow, silvery-green leaves. The large, trumpet-shaped, white flowers start as pink buds and bloom abundantly in late spring and summer, covering almost the whole plant. They resemble the Morning Glory flowers and that is where they got their common name. Attractive to bees, butterflies, and hummingbirds. Convolvulus cneorum prefers low to moderately fertile, slightly alkaline, medium moisture, well-drained soils in a sunny, sheltered positions. Once established, it is heat and drought tolerant. In hot summer climates, it appreciates some afternoon shade. It is somewhat resistant to frost, but in the areas with cold, wet winters, it should be grown in containers and taken inside during the winter. Generally, pest-free and disease-free. Convolvulus cneorum is an attractive, long-blooming shrub, very popular as a container plant. Also great for beds and borders, urban gardens, and gravel and rock gardens.
