The foliage consists of deeply cut, star-shaped leaves with five to seven pointed lobes, giving the tree a distinctive maple-like appearance throughout the growing season. In autumn, the leaves turn through a striking sequence of orange, red, purple and yellow, often holding several colours at once on the same tree, making this the season of greatest ornamental value. The bark develops a corky, ridged texture with age, adding winter interest once the leaves have fallen. This cultivar is noted for its reliable and vivid autumn colour compared to the species, making it a popular choice for specimen planting where seasonal display is a priority. As a full standard, it suits use as a feature tree in lawns, parks or larger garden settings where its height and spread can be appreciated. The tree performs well on a range of soil types, including heavier clay soils, provided drainage is adequate, and tolerates both full sun and partial shade. It is a sound choice for parkland, avenue planting or as a focal point in open garden spaces.","brand":"Arundel Arboretum","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":57527720542586,"sku":"LIQU-WORP-TR30-45","price":523.0,"currency_code":"GBP","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0654\/9130\/4688\/files\/liquidambar_styraciflua_worplesdon_tree_full_standard_300-350cm_DYK68P.jpg?v=1793999343","url":"https:\/\/www.arundelarboretum.co.uk\/products\/sweet-gum-worplesdon-liquidambar-styraciflua-worplesdon-clear-stem-full-standard-height-300-350cm-width-140-180cm-girth-10-12cm-stem-180-220cm-45lt","provider":"Arundel Arboretum","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
