Abelia Gold Jewel - 30-40cm, 2lt

Abelia Gold Jewel is a lovely compact and neat semi-evergreen shrub grown mostly for its attractive glossy pure gold leaves that become copper bronze in autumn and winter. From late summer till mid-autumn, mildly fragrant, trumpet-shaped flowers in pale pink and white cover the ends of its branches, adding to its attractiveness. Small in size, this beautiful tidy plant is perfect for small yards and city gardens, and ideal for growing in containers. It prefers sunny, sheltered locations and moist, well-drained soil. Being very resilient, generally pest-free and disease-free, it is very easy to maintain and requires minimal pruning. It is tolerant to frost, but its attractive golden foliage needs to be sheltered from harsh winds. It should be watered regularly. Abelia 'Gold Jewel' is a hybrid between the species L. chinensis and L. uniflora.
