Acer platanoides 'Crimson Sentry' is a medium-sized, narrowly upright, deciduous columnar with a dense, egg-shaped crown and beautiful foliage. Shiny five-lobed leaves are raspberry red in spring, dark red to purple throughout the summer, and bright red in autumn. Clusters of inconspicuous, yellow-green flowers emerge on bare branches before leaves in early spring and are followed by winged nuts, samaras. Crimson Sentry Norway Maple can grow in any type of well-drained soil, but it doesn’t like peaty soils and soils with stagnant groundwater.
