Aucuba japonica 'Variegata' is a dense, rounded, shade-loving, female, evergreen shrub with glossy, deep green leaves irregularly variegated with yellow spots and spackles. Tiny, purple flowers bloom in spring and are followed by red berries in autumn often persisting on branches until spring. Aucuba japonica 'Variegata' prefers organically rich, moist, well-drained soils, but can adapt to a wide range of soils, even poor ones, except waterlogged. Foliage colour depends on the amount of sun exposure. Best colour is achieved in partial shade - yellow spots fade in too much shade, green colour fades in too much sun. Once established, resistant to drought. Tolerant of urban pollution and coastal conditions. It can withstand frost, but needs to be sheltered from harsh winds. Generally, pest-free and disease-free. Low maintenance plant. Gold Dust Laurel is a wonderful, resilient shrub, perfect for informal, cottage, and urban gardens. Great for beds and borders, foundation plantings, hedges and screens. Suitable for growing in containers.

About Us

During this time, we have developed a large stock of trees, mature evergreen shrubs, conifers, Japanese maples, cedars and olives. What sets us apart from a generic garden center is solid unwavering focus on trees and some bigger shrubs. You will find thousands of trees, hundreds of varieties and lots of experts who are working on the nursery and more than willing to help you to choose a plant for you.

What you will not find is hot tubs, garden furniture and plastic garden gnomes. In a nutshell, trees is what we know and trees is what we do, and only trees (and some shrubs to go with the trees).
