Buddleja ‘White Profusion’, or Butterfly Bush ‘White Profusion’, is a large, vigorous, deciduous shrub with elegant arching branches, lance-shaped, grey-green leaves, white-felted underneath. Cone-shaped, long panicles of mildly fragrant, white flowers bloom from mid-summer to early fall, usually from June to September, sometimes until the first frosts. Attractive to hummingbirds and butterflies, as the name suggests. Buddleja ‘White Profusion’ grows best in average, loamy, medium moisture, well-drained soils in full sun. Doesn’t like too wet or waterlogged soils, but is adaptable to clay and poor soils. Once established, tolerant of heat and drought. In cold climates, it will die to the ground and grow back in spring. No serious disease or pest problems. Low maintenance plant, doesn’t require pruning.
