Camellia japonica 'Adolphe Audusson' (Adolf Red) is a large, compact, vigorous evergreen shrub with leathery, glossy, oval, dark green leaves and beautiful semi-double, deep-red flowers with yellow stamens up to 10cm large. It blooms in late winter to spring. Camellia 'Adolphe Audusson' thrives in fertile, rich, slightly acidic soil, moist and well-drained. It prefers partial shade and needs to be protected from the afternoon sun and the wind. It is slow to establish and slow to grow but once established it can live very long. Too much sun or shade can reduce blooming. It can withstand low temperatures, it’s one of the hardiest varieties. It doesn’t like irregular watering or to be moved. It’s susceptible to a number of fungal diseases. Camellia japonica 'Adolphe Audusson' is a stunning shrub great for cottage and urban gardens, beds and borders, backgrounds, and informal hedges. Suitable for growing on containers. Grows very well in conservatories.

About Us

During this time, we have developed a large stock of trees, mature evergreen shrubs, conifers, Japanese maples, cedars and olives. What sets us apart from a generic garden center is solid unwavering focus on trees and some bigger shrubs. You will find thousands of trees, hundreds of varieties and lots of experts who are working on the nursery and more than willing to help you to choose a plant for you.

What you will not find is hot tubs, garden furniture and plastic garden gnomes. In a nutshell, trees is what we know and trees is what we do, and only trees (and some shrubs to go with the trees).
