Cornus controversa 'Variegata' is one of the most beautiful variegated trees. It’s a medium-sized, deciduous tree with horizontally layered branches. Its lush, ovate, dark green leaves with broad creamy margins turn yellow in autumn. The clusters of small, creamy white flowers bloom in late spring and are followed by blue-black berries, very attractive to birds, in late summer. Cornus controversa 'Variegata' thrives in rich, slightly acidic, medium moisture, well-drained soils in full sun, but can grow in dappled shade and adapt to other types of soil. Once established, it is drought-tolerant and can withstand frost, but doesn’t like heat. It prefers cool, moist environments. Generally, pest-free and disease-free. Cornus controversa 'Variegata' is a beautiful and elegant tree, easy to grow and low maintenance. A prefect specimen plant and a great focal point for small or medium-sized gardens. Provides good shade in summer and spectacular appearance all year round.

Arundel Arboretum is a shrub and tree retail nursery with over 40 years of experience.

About Us

During this time, we have developed a large stock of trees, mature evergreen shrubs, conifers, Japanese maples, cedars and olives. What sets us apart from a generic garden center is solid unwavering focus on trees and some bigger shrubs. You will find thousands of trees, hundreds of varieties and lots of experts who are working on the nursery and more than willing to help you to choose a plant for you.

What you will not find is hot tubs, garden furniture and plastic garden gnomes. In a nutshell, trees is what we know and trees is what we do, and only trees (and some shrubs to go with the trees).
