Cotinus coggygria ‘Smokey Joe’ is a compact, bushy, upright to rounded, deciduous shrub with round, grey-green leaves, bright green when young and yellow, orange, and red in autumn. Attractive, feathery, plumes of small, pink-purple flowers resemble clouds of smoke and bloom in late spring and early summer. Cotinus coggygria ‘Smokey Joe’ grows best in moderately fertile, moist and well-drained soils, but is adaptable to a wide range of soil types. It prefers full sun and leaf colour is the best in full sun, but it can adapt to partial shade. It is resistant to frost and very low temperatures. Generally, pest-free. Low maintenance plant, but spring pruning is recommended for better shape. Smoke tree ‘Smokey Joe’, with its smoky pink flowers and amazing autumn colours, is a lovely, ornamental shrub, perfect for any small informal, cottage, or urban garden. Great for beds, mixed borders and shrub borders. Suitable for growing containers.

About Us

During this time, we have developed a large stock of trees, mature evergreen shrubs, conifers, Japanese maples, cedars and olives. What sets us apart from a generic garden center is solid unwavering focus on trees and some bigger shrubs. You will find thousands of trees, hundreds of varieties and lots of experts who are working on the nursery and more than willing to help you to choose a plant for you.

What you will not find is hot tubs, garden furniture and plastic garden gnomes. In a nutshell, trees is what we know and trees is what we do, and only trees (and some shrubs to go with the trees).
