Ligustrum ovalifolium 'Aureum' is a vigorous, fast-growing, large, dense, semi-evergreen shrub of upright habit with ovate, glossy, rich-green leaves with irregular, golden-yellow margins. Dense clusters of small, fragrant, creamy-white flowers bloom in June and July and are followed by glossy, black-blue berries in autumn, attractive to birds. Golden Privet grows well in any type of soil, as long as it is well-drained, but it prefers fertile, moist, but well-drained soils, in full sun or partial shade. It’s a tough, fast-growing plant that can withstand heat and frost. In very hard winters, it may lose some leaves. It is tolerant of urban pollution and very suitable for urban gardens.
