Passiflora caerrula is an exotic-looking, large, vigorous, semi-evergreen climber with twining tendrils and deeply lobed, glossy, dark green leaves. Stunning, large, white flowers with white, purple and blue central filaments bloom in summer and autumn and are followed by egg-shaped, edible but not very tasty, orange-yellow fruit. Passiflora caerrula prefers loose, sandy or gravelly soils, moist and well-drained, in full sun or partial shade. Too much compost will result in poor flowering. It’s a sub-tropical plant and in colder areas it should be grown in containers and brought inside during the winter. Otherwise, it may die to the ground, but regrow in spring. Best to be planted against a warm wall. Blue Passion Flower, with its exotic look, is a beautiful climber, perfect for walls, fences, trellises, and arbours in cottage, urban and Mediterranean gardens. Since it clings with tendrils, it won’t damage fences or walls. Suitable for growing in containers.

Arundel Arboretum is a shrub and tree retail nursery with over 40 years of experience.

About Us

During this time, we have developed a large stock of trees, mature evergreen shrubs, conifers, Japanese maples, cedars and olives. What sets us apart from a generic garden center is solid unwavering focus on trees and some bigger shrubs. You will find thousands of trees, hundreds of varieties and lots of experts who are working on the nursery and more than willing to help you to choose a plant for you.

What you will not find is hot tubs, garden furniture and plastic garden gnomes. In a nutshell, trees is what we know and trees is what we do, and only trees (and some shrubs to go with the trees).
