Pieris 'Debutante' is a small, low-growing, evergreen shrub of rounded habit with lovely, narrowly ovate, toothed, leathery, glossy dark green leaves. The clusters of tiny, urn-shaped, creamy-white flowers bloom throughout the spring. Attractive to bees and butterflies. Pieris 'Debutante' likes moderately fertile, humus rich, acidic, sandy and loamy soils. It thrives in full sun, but also grows well in partial shade. It can withstand frost, but needs to be sheltered from harsh winter winds, especially when young. Resistant to urban pollution and suitable for growing in cities. Low maintenance plant, doesn’t require pruning. Pieris 'Debutante' is a lovely little shrub, easy to grow and suitable for informal, cottage, urban, and woodland gardens. It is attractive all year round. Great for flower beds and borders, mixed and shrub borders, banks and slopes. Suitable for growing in pots and containers.
