Liquidambar styraciflua 'Lane Roberts' is a medium-sized, deciduous tree with narrow, upright crown when young, broadly conical when mature, corky fissures on branches, and aromatic, star-shaped, maple-like, glossy, dark green leaves that turn deep crimson to nearly black in autumn. Small, inconspicuous, yellowish-green flowers bloom in spring, and are followed by hard, prickly gum balls that remain on branches throughout the winter. Carpinus betulus, or European Hornbeam, is a large, deciduous tree with a fluted grey trunk and very appealing, dense, oval to rounded crown. The leaves are ovate, serrated and ribbed, dark green in summer, coppery yellow in autumn. They remain on branches long into winter. Flowers appear in separate male and female catkins before the leaves, in spring, and are followed by winged nuts. European Hornbeam is a low maintenance and easy to grow plant. It is satisfied with any type of soil, but prefers fertile, dry to moist, well-drained soil, in full sun or partial shade. It is generally disease-free and pest free. It can tolerate drought. Carpinus betulus is an excellent tree and a nice addition to any garden. It is great as a specimen plant or in a group. Because of its tolerance to pruning, it is perfect for hedges and privacy screens.

Betula ermanii, or Erman’s Birch, is an elegant, medium-sized, fast-growing, vigorous, deciduous tree with broadly conical habit. It has an attractive creamy or pinkish white peeling bark on the trunk, and papery orange-brown bark on the branches. Its leaves are ovate, heart-shaped, bright green, turning golden yellow in autumn. Small, yellow flowers in long catkins emerge together with the leaves. It has shallow root and dense rooting system. Erman's Birch can grow in various types of soil, as long as they are moist, and well drained. It thrives in full sun or partial shade. It is resistant to frost, but doesn’t tolerate paving, hard surfaces, and coastal winds. Low maintenance plant, requires very little pruning. Betula ermanii is a beautiful, elegant tree, attractive throughout the year, especially in winter. It is perfect as a specimen plant or planted in beds and borders. Hoheria sexstylosa ‘Snow White’ is an attractive, evergreen shrub or small tree of pyramidal shape, with attractive, peeling bark, and ovate, sharply toothed, glossy green leaves. Masses of beautiful and delicate, fragrant, star-shaped, white flowers, resemble cherry blossom and bloom throughout summer. Attractive to bees and butterflies. Hoheria sexstylosa ‘Snow White’ prefers fertile, neutral to alkaline, moist, well-drained soils but can adopt to any type of soil as long as it is well-drained. It thrives in full sun or partial shade. It needs to be sheltered from cold, dry winds and roots should be protected in winter with mulch. Generally, pest-free and disease-free. This beautiful evergreen shrub with lovely summer flowers is a great addition to any informal, cottage, urban or coastal garden. If heavily pruned, it can be turned into an attractive evergreen hedge and provide privacy and some wind protection. Perfect for shrub borders, wall-side borders, hedges and screens.

Acer rubrum 'Redpointe' ('Frank Junior') is medium-sized, fast-growing, upright, oval to pyramidal, vigorous, deciduous tree. It has palmate, lobed, glossy dark green leaves that become beautifully vivid bright red in autumn. Red flowers in small umbrellas show up in March and are followed by winged nuts, samaras, in autumn. Perfect as a large specimen or shade tree, nice-looking when planted in groups.

Redpointe Red Maple is an American variety of red maple cultivated for planting in cities as street or park trees. It prefers slightly acidic, well-drained soil. In calcareous soil, it will stagnate and its autumn colour will be less intense. It prefers full sun, but tolerates partial shade. Resistant to frost, moderately to winds, it doesn’t like salt and sea winds, therefore, it is not suitable for coasts. It was developed and introduced to market by Keith S. Warren from J. Betula utilis Snow Queen is one of the most popular varieties of birch trees. It’s a medium-sized, deciduous tree with a pyramid-shaped crown and ascending branches. Its snowy white exfoliating bark is stunning all year round. It is very similar to Betula jacquemontii except it gets its shinny white bark earlier in its life. Its leaves are ovate, dark green, turning bright yellow in autumn. Male flowers are yellowish-brown and appear in dropping catkins, while female are greenish and appear in upright catkins.
