Acer palmatum 'Little Princess', also known as Chiyo-hime Japanese maple, is a small, ornamental, deciduous shrub with a compact, spreading habit. Palmate leaves are light green with red edges in spring, vibrant green in summer, and golden-yellow and orange in autumn. Tiny, inconspicuous, purple-red flowers bloom in spring and are followed by winged fruits. It likes acidic or neutral soil, moist but well-drained. Leaf colour is more intensive when grown in partial shade, but it doesn’t mind full sun. It needs to be protected from harsh winds. It is very resilient, generally pest-free and disease-free, tolerant to heat and humidity. Lack of soil moisture and excessive exposure can cause leaf scorch. Acer palmatum 'Little Princess' increases its beauty as it ages. It is perfect for small gardens and growing in containers. Beautiful leaf colour and interesting shape makes it a perfect specimen plant
