Betula utilis Jaquemontii, commonly known as the Himalayan Birch or White-Barked Himalayan Birch, is a stunning deciduous tree renowned for its elegant beauty and distinctive white bark. This tree typically grows with a clear stem, meaning that the trunk is devoid of branches up to a certain height, allowing for a striking display of its unique features.
The Betula utilis Jaquemontii standard tree boasts a slender, upright form that reaches heights of 30 to 40 feet (9 to 12 meters) when mature. Its bark is one of its most captivating attributes, peeling away in papery layers to reveal a brilliant white surface that gleams against the backdrop of green leaves during the summer months. This stunning contrast makes it a favorite among landscapers and garden enthusiasts.
In spring, the tree produces delicate, pendulous catkins, adding a touch of grace to the landscape. Its leaves are ovate and finely serrated, turning a lovely golden-yellow in the autumn before falling, providing a beautiful seasonal transformation.
With its striking appearance, the Betula utilis Jaquemontii standard tree is a popular choice for gardens, parks, and urban landscapes, adding year-round visual interest and a touch of elegance to any setting. Its low-branching, clear stem enhances its aesthetic appeal, making it a sought-after ornamental tree for those who appreciate its aesthetic value.

Arundel Arboretum is a shrub and tree retail nursery with over 40 years of experience.

About Us
During this time, we have developed a large stock of trees, mature evergreen shrubs, conifers, Japanese maples, cedars and olives. What sets us apart from a generic garden center is solid unwavering focus on trees and some bigger shrubs. You will find thousands of trees, hundreds of varieties and lots of experts who are working on the nursery and more than willing to help you to choose a plant for you.
What you will not find is hot tubs, garden furniture and plastic garden gnomes. In a nutshell, trees is what we know and trees is what we do, and only trees (and some shrubs to go with the trees).
