Fagus sylvatica heterophylla 'Aspleniifolia' is a beautiful, medium-sized, deciduous tree with smooth, silky, grey bark, pyramidal habit when young and broad, open crown when mature. It is often as wide as it is tall. Long, narrow, deeply-lobed, fern-like leaves are dark green throughout the summer, and turn golden yellow in autumn. Small, inconspicuous, yellowish flowers bloom in spring and are followed by triangular edible beechnuts. Fagus sylvatica heterophylla 'Aspleniifolia' thrives in deep, rich, moist, well-drained soils, in full sun or partial shade. It doesn’t tolerate waterlogged soils or heavy clay. Once established, somewhat tolerant to drought. It is generally disease-free and pest-free. Easy to grow, low maintenance plant. It doesn’t grow well in urban areas and doesn’t like to be moved, very hard to transplant. Fagus sylvatica heterophylla 'Aspleniifolia' is a beautiful ornamental tree, perfect as a specimen plant or a shade tree. Great for informal hedges and screens.

About Us

During this time, we have developed a large stock of trees, mature evergreen shrubs, conifers, Japanese maples, cedars and olives. What sets us apart from a generic garden center is solid unwavering focus on trees and some bigger shrubs. You will find thousands of trees, hundreds of varieties and lots of experts who are working on the nursery and more than willing to help you to choose a plant for you.

What you will not find is hot tubs, garden furniture and plastic garden gnomes. In a nutshell, trees is what we know and trees is what we do, and only trees (and some shrubs to go with the trees).
