Unit price perLaurus nobilis or Bay Laurel, is a dense, compact, slow-growing, evergreen shrub or small tree of pyramidal habit, dark grey bark, and aromatic, narrowly ovate, leathery, dark green leaves used in cooking, especially in French and Mediterranean cuisine. Clusters of small, yellowish flowers bloom in spring and are followed by glossy, dark purple, berry-like drupes.
Bay Laurel can grow in a wide range of soils, as long as they are well-drained, but thrives in fertile, moist, and well-drained soils. It prefers full sun, but doesn’t mind partial shade. It is tolerant of salt, therefore, suitable for coastal areas. Generally, pest-free and disease-free. In colder climates, it needs to be grown in containers and brought inside during the winter.
Laurus nobilis is a wonderful, long-lived shrub, perfect as a specimen plant or planted in groups. Suitable for growing in containers, great as a topiary, and excellent for hedges and screens. Essential for herb garden.

Unit price perLaurus nobilis, commonly known as bay laurel, is a highly versatile and valuable plant for many types of gardens. Its elegant, glossy evergreen foliage provides year-round structure and makes it an excellent choice for ornamental borders, formal designs, and Mediterranean-inspired landscapes. Bay laurel can be grown as a shrub or trained into a small tree, and it also responds exceptionally well to pruning, making it ideal for topiary, hedging, or container cultivation.
This species thrives in full sun to partial shade and prefers well-drained soils, though it is generally tolerant of a range of soil types once established. In warm, temperate climates, Laurus nobilis grows vigorously and remains evergreen; in colder regions, it benefits from shelter against harsh winter winds or can be overwintered in a container. Its moderate drought tolerance adds to its suitability for low-maintenance gardens.
Beyond its ornamental appeal, bay laurel is valued for its aromatic leaves, widely used in cooking. The leaves can be harvested year-round, adding a practical, culinary dimension to the garden. Combining beauty, resilience, and utility, Laurus nobilis is an excellent, long-lasting addition to both formal and informal garden settings.
