Acer platanoides 'Crimson Sentry' is a medium-sized, narrowly upright, deciduous columnar with a dense, egg-shaped crown and beautiful foliage. Shiny five-lobed leaves are raspberry red in spring, dark red to purple throughout the summer, and bright red in autumn. Clusters of inconspicuous, yellow-green flowers emerge on bare branches before leaves in early spring and are followed by winged nuts, samaras. Crimson Sentry Norway Maple can grow in any type of well-drained soil, but it doesn’t like peaty soils and soils with stagnant groundwater. It is ideal for tough positions, even exposed coastal positions because it is resistant to heat, drought and harsh winds. Very resilient and low maintenance plant. Acer platanoides 'Crimson Sentry' is used in parks and as a solitary. It tolerates air pollution well, therefore, it is suitable for planting in cities and industrial areas. Because of its narrow form, perfect for smaller spaces and tighter locations.
