Aucuba japonica 'Picturata' is a dense, vigorous, rounded, evergreen shrub with variegated, elliptic, leathery, glossy, dark green leaves with golden yellow centres and speckles. Small, purple flowers bloom in early spring and are followed by red berries on female plants in autumn, persisting on branches until spring. Aucuba japonica 'Picturata' prefers organically rich, moist, well-drained soils, but can adapt to a wide range of soils, even poor ones, but not waterlogged. It thrives in partial shade to full shade. It tolerates full sun, but in hot summer climates it appreciates afternoon shade. Once established, resistant to drought. It can withstand frost, but needs to be sheltered from harsh winds. It is tolerant of urban pollution and coastal conditions. Generally, pest-free and disease-free. Low maintenance plant. Spotted Laurel 'Picturata' is a beautiful, tough shrub, perfect as a specimen plant in cottage and urban gardens. Great for shrub borders, foundation plantings, and hedges and screens. Suitable for growing in containers.

About Us

During this time, we have developed a large stock of trees, mature evergreen shrubs, conifers, Japanese maples, cedars and olives. What sets us apart from a generic garden center is solid unwavering focus on trees and some bigger shrubs. You will find thousands of trees, hundreds of varieties and lots of experts who are working on the nursery and more than willing to help you to choose a plant for you.

What you will not find is hot tubs, garden furniture and plastic garden gnomes. In a nutshell, trees is what we know and trees is what we do, and only trees (and some shrubs to go with the trees).
