Callicarpa bodinieri 'Snowstar' is a densely-branched deciduous shrub with ovate, dark green leaves, tinged purple and pink in autumn and small, lovely, pink flowers in summer. Clusters of ornamental, small, glossy, snow-white, pearl-like berries appear along bare branches in autumn and winter. Attractive to bees and birds. Callicarpa bodinieri 'Snowstar’ is very easy to grow, adaptable to a wide range of soil conditions, but prefers fertile, medium moisture, well-drained soils. It likes full sun and best flowers and fruits are achieved in full sun, but can adapt to partial shade. Very resistant to frost, may need to be sheltered from harsh winter winds. Generally, pest-free and disease-free. Low maintenance plant, doesn’t require pruning. Bodinier Beautyberry ‘Snowstar’ is a wonderful ornamental shrub, especially in winter with its lovely white berries on bare branches. Perfect as a specimen plant in informal and cottage gardens.
