Camellia japonica 'Nuccio's Pearl' is a stunning evergreen shrub, celebrated for its ornamental beauty and adaptability in various garden settings. This variety, often reaching a height and spread of 6-8 feet, forms a dense, upright habit, making it an excellent choice for both focal point plantings and as part of a mixed border.
The true allure of 'Nuccio's Pearl' lies in its breathtaking flowers, which bloom profusely from late winter to early spring. Each flower is a delicate masterpiece, featuring layered petals that transition from a creamy white at the edges to a soft pink at the center, resembling a pearl's luster. These exquisite blooms, typically 3-4 inches in diameter, contrast beautifully against the dark, glossy green leaves.
This shrub thrives in partial shade, preferring well-drained, acidic soil. It's relatively low maintenance, requiring minimal pruning primarily to shape the plant or remove any dead or damaged wood. 'Nuccio's Pearl' is a hardy variety, but it benefits from protection against extreme cold and wind. This plant is an ideal choice for gardeners seeking a touch of elegance and a splash of color during the colder months.

Arundel Arboretum is a shrub and tree retail nursery with over 40 years of experience.

About Us
During this time, we have developed a large stock of trees, mature evergreen shrubs, conifers, Japanese maples, cedars and olives. What sets us apart from a generic garden center is solid unwavering focus on trees and some bigger shrubs. You will find thousands of trees, hundreds of varieties and lots of experts who are working on the nursery and more than willing to help you to choose a plant for you.
What you will not find is hot tubs, garden furniture and plastic garden gnomes. In a nutshell, trees is what we know and trees is what we do, and only trees (and some shrubs to go with the trees).
