Ceanothus thyrsiflorus is a large, vigorous, fast-growing, upright evergreen shrub with arching branches. It has small, oval, glossy green leaves and very attractive fluffy clusters of small, pale to dark blue flowers with yellow stamens. It blooms from mid-spring to early summer, literally covering the whole shrub with stunning blue colour. Attractive to bees and butterflies. Ceanothus thyrsiflorus thrives in average, slightly alkaline, moist but well drained soils, in full sun. In hot and dry summer areas, it appreciates some afternoon shade. Tolerant to salt spray and poor rocky or sandy soil, therefore, suitable for coastal areas. Once established, resistant to drought. Easy to grow and low maintenance. Ceanothus thyrsiflorus is a very decorative plant, perfect for sunny beds and borders, wall-side borders, hedges and screens, mixed borders with grasses and perennials, and as a groundcover on dry banks and slopes. Great for informal, cottage, and coastal gardens. Suitable for growing in containers.

About Us

During this time, we have developed a large stock of trees, mature evergreen shrubs, conifers, Japanese maples, cedars and olives. What sets us apart from a generic garden center is solid unwavering focus on trees and some bigger shrubs. You will find thousands of trees, hundreds of varieties and lots of experts who are working on the nursery and more than willing to help you to choose a plant for you.

What you will not find is hot tubs, garden furniture and plastic garden gnomes. In a nutshell, trees is what we know and trees is what we do, and only trees (and some shrubs to go with the trees).
