Ceanothus 'Yankee Point', or Californian Lilac 'Yankee Point' is a small, vigorous, low-spreading, fast-growing, evergreen shrub with horizontal arching branches, ovate, leathery, glossy, dark green leaves, and clusters of tiny, fluffy, bright blue flowers blooming in profusion in late spring and early summer. Attractive to birds, bees and butterflies. Californian lilac 'Yankee Point' grows best in fertile, sandy or loamy, well-drained soils. It prefers sheltered sunny areas. Once established, it is drought tolerant. In hot summer areas, it appreciates some afternoon shade. It can withstand frost but needs to be sheltered from strong, cold winds. Tolerant of coastal and urban conditions. Low maintenance plant, doesn’t require pruning. Very easy to grow. Ceanothus 'Yankee Point' is a lovely, low growing shrub, very resistant and adaptable, perfect for coastal areas, as well as inland cottage and urban gardens. Excellent as a groundcover, great for banks and slopes for erosion control, beds and borders, and wall-side borders.

Arundel Arboretum is a shrub and tree retail nursery with over 40 years of experience.

About Us

During this time, we have developed a large stock of trees, mature evergreen shrubs, conifers, Japanese maples, cedars and olives. What sets us apart from a generic garden center is solid unwavering focus on trees and some bigger shrubs. You will find thousands of trees, hundreds of varieties and lots of experts who are working on the nursery and more than willing to help you to choose a plant for you.

What you will not find is hot tubs, garden furniture and plastic garden gnomes. In a nutshell, trees is what we know and trees is what we do, and only trees (and some shrubs to go with the trees).
