Chamaecyparis lawsoniana 'Stardust’ is a medium-sized, compact, narrowly pyramidal, coniferous, evergreen tree with flat sprays of feathery, pale green to golden yellow foliage, bronze at the tips, on slightly dropping branches, and small, globose cones. Chamaecyparis lawsoniana 'Stardust' is a tough plant adaptable to a wide range of soils but prefers fertile, humus-rich, slightly acidic, moist, well-drained soils. It thrives in full sun to partial shade. It is very resistant to frost and exposed positions, but still needs some sheltering from winter sun and winds in very cold areas in order to maintain its pretty looks. It can withstand urban pollution. Low maintenance plant, doesn’t require pruning, but is tolerant of hard pruning. Lawson's cypress 'Stardust' is a great, architectural plant, perfect as a specimen plant or planted in groups in informal, cottage, and urban gardens. Excellent for hedges and screens and beds and borders. Suitable for growing in containers on patios and roof gardens.

Arundel Arboretum is a shrub and tree retail nursery with over 40 years of experience.

About Us

During this time, we have developed a large stock of trees, mature evergreen shrubs, conifers, Japanese maples, cedars and olives. What sets us apart from a generic garden center is solid unwavering focus on trees and some bigger shrubs. You will find thousands of trees, hundreds of varieties and lots of experts who are working on the nursery and more than willing to help you to choose a plant for you.

What you will not find is hot tubs, garden furniture and plastic garden gnomes. In a nutshell, trees is what we know and trees is what we do, and only trees (and some shrubs to go with the trees).
