Daphne 'Pink Fragrance' is a semi-evergreen shrub with a compact, rounded habit, forming a dense mound of glossy, dark green leaves. It is particularly valued for its flowers, which appear from late winter into spring, with intermittent blooms often continuing through summer. The flowers are borne in clusters at the branch tips, pink in bud and opening to reveal pale pink to white blooms with a strong, sweet fragrance that can perfume an entire garden area. Following flowering, small fruits may occasionally develop, though the shrub is grown primarily for its blooms and scent rather than fruiting display. The flowers attract pollinating insects, including early-emerging bees, making it a useful addition for gardeners wishing to support pollinators during the cooler months when fewer plants are in flower. This Daphne performs best in well-drained, humus-rich soil and benefits from a sheltered position, making it suitable for planting near paths, entrances, or seating areas where its fragrance can be fully appreciated. It is a versatile shrub for mixed borders, cottage gardens, or container planting on patios, and its moderate size makes it appropriate for smaller gardens where space is limited.
