Ilex ‘Little Rascal’ is a small, compact, mound-forming, slow-growing, evergreen shrub with extremely glossy, bright green, spiny, not thorny, leaves with serrated coppery edges, and inconspicuous, white, flowers that don’t produce fruit because all plants are male. Foliage sometimes turn purple in winter. A good pollinator for female hollies. Holly ‘Little Rascal’ is very undemanding plant. It can grow in a wide range of soils, but prefers fertile, humus-rich, slightly acidic, moist, well-drained soils. It grows best in full sun to partial shade. It is resistant to frost, very low temperatures, exposed positions, and urban pollution. Low maintenance plant, requires little to no pruning, but it can withstand hard pruning. Ilex ‘Little Rascal’ is a new, unique variety of blue holly that doesn’t require much care. It is great as a small accent plant. Excellent for low hedges and screens, beds and borders, and for growing in pots and containers. Suitable for informal, cottage, rock, and urban gardens.

Arundel Arboretum is a shrub and tree retail nursery with over 40 years of experience.

About Us
During this time, we have developed a large stock of trees, mature evergreen shrubs, conifers, Japanese maples, cedars and olives. What sets us apart from a generic garden center is solid unwavering focus on trees and some bigger shrubs. You will find thousands of trees, hundreds of varieties and lots of experts who are working on the nursery and more than willing to help you to choose a plant for you.
What you will not find is hot tubs, garden furniture and plastic garden gnomes. In a nutshell, trees is what we know and trees is what we do, and only trees (and some shrubs to go with the trees).
