Juniperus communis 'Hibernica' is a large, coniferous, evergreen shrub of narrowly columnar habit with reddish-brown peeling bark, dense, compact, stiff, ascending branches, and short, needle-like, pale green to silvery-green leaves. Male and female cones are produced on separate plants in spring and are not considered ornamental. Female plants bear fleshy, fruit-like, seed cones known as juniper berries. Juniperus communis 'Hibernica' is adaptable to a wide range of soils, even very poor and rocky ones, but grows best in moist, well-drained soils. It thrives in full sun or partial shade. Once established, resistant to drought. Really dislikes hot and humid conditions. Tolerant of frost and low temperatures. Adaptable to air pollution and urban conditions. Low maintenance plant, doesn’t require pruning. Irish juniper is a stunning, elegant, highly ornamental shrub, perfect as a specimen in informal, cottage, and urban gardens. Great-looking in rock and gravel gardens. Excellent for beds and borders and hedges and screens. Suitable for growing in containers.

About Us

During this time, we have developed a large stock of trees, mature evergreen shrubs, conifers, Japanese maples, cedars and olives. What sets us apart from a generic garden center is solid unwavering focus on trees and some bigger shrubs. You will find thousands of trees, hundreds of varieties and lots of experts who are working on the nursery and more than willing to help you to choose a plant for you.

What you will not find is hot tubs, garden furniture and plastic garden gnomes. In a nutshell, trees is what we know and trees is what we do, and only trees (and some shrubs to go with the trees).
