Liquidambar styraciflua 'Lane Roberts' is a medium-sized, deciduous tree with narrow, upright crown when young, broadly conical when mature, corky fissures on branches, and aromatic, star-shaped, maple-like, glossy, dark green leaves that turn deep crimson to nearly black in autumn. Small, inconspicuous, yellowish-green flowers bloom in spring, and are followed by hard, prickly gum balls that remain on branches throughout the winter. Liquidambar styraciflua 'Lane Roberts' is an adaptable tree, easily grown in various types of soils, except shallow and alkaline. It prefers moist, slightly acidic, well-drained soils in sunny, sheltered positions. It is tolerant of partial shade, cold, and heat. Resistant to urban pollution. Low maintenance plant. Generally, pest-free and disease-free. Liquidambar styraciflua is a wonderful ornamental tree, popular for its wonderful foliage, but it needs a lot of space to grow. Perfect as a specimen plant. Suitable for urban areas but prickly fruits falling to the ground could be a problem.

About Us

During this time, we have developed a large stock of trees, mature evergreen shrubs, conifers, Japanese maples, cedars and olives. What sets us apart from a generic garden center is solid unwavering focus on trees and some bigger shrubs. You will find thousands of trees, hundreds of varieties and lots of experts who are working on the nursery and more than willing to help you to choose a plant for you.

What you will not find is hot tubs, garden furniture and plastic garden gnomes. In a nutshell, trees is what we know and trees is what we do, and only trees (and some shrubs to go with the trees).
