Loropetalum chinense var. rubrum is a dwarf, bushy, compact, neat, evergreen shrub of the witch hazel family, with small, oval, reddish to purple-green leaves and clusters of lightly aromatic, pink, spidery flowers on twisted petals blooming in spring. Loropetalum chinense var. rubrum prefers fertile, humus-rich, slightly acidic, moist, well-drained soil. Doesn’t like waterlogged and shallow chalk soils. It thrives in full sun to partial shade. It looks best when grown in sunny, sheltered, frost-free areas. Too much shade reduces flowering. It can withstand some frost, but has to be sheltered from harsh, drying winter winds. Adaptable to coastal and urban conditions. Generally, pest-free and disease-free. Low maintenance shrub, doesn’t require pruning. Loropetalum 'Fire Dance' is an attractive, compact shrub, perfect for cottage, urban, woodland, and coastal gardens. It is great as a specimen plant or planted in groups. Excellent for foundation plantings, beds and borders, and low, dividing hedges. Suitable for growing in containers.

About Us

During this time, we have developed a large stock of trees, mature evergreen shrubs, conifers, Japanese maples, cedars and olives. What sets us apart from a generic garden center is solid unwavering focus on trees and some bigger shrubs. You will find thousands of trees, hundreds of varieties and lots of experts who are working on the nursery and more than willing to help you to choose a plant for you.

What you will not find is hot tubs, garden furniture and plastic garden gnomes. In a nutshell, trees is what we know and trees is what we do, and only trees (and some shrubs to go with the trees).
