Magnolia Purpurea, also known as the purple magnolia or the Yulan magnolia, is a deciduous tree that belongs to the Magnoliaceae family. It is native to eastern and southeastern Asia and is widely cultivated for its attractive and fragrant flowers. The tree grows to a height of 15-20 meters and has a rounded crown with dark green leaves that turn yellow in autumn. The flowers are large, cup-shaped, and fragrant, with a diameter of 10-15 cm. They usually appear in early spring before the leaves emerge, and their color varies from pink to purple or even white. Magnolia Purpurea prefers well-drained soil and full sun to partial shade. It is relatively easy to grow and requires moderate watering and pruning to maintain its shape. The tree is hardy in USDA zones 6-9 and can withstand temperatures as low as -10°C.
