Metasequoia glyptostroboides 'Hamlet 's Broom' is a compact form of Dawn Redwood, a prehistoric tree which was thought to be extinct until the middle of 20th century. It’s a small, coniferous, dense, deciduous tree of columnar, upright habit, with exfoliating, orange-brown bark, and variegated, needle-like leaves – creamy white in spring, bright green in summer, and golden yellow to amber in autumn. Unusual of conifer, its foliage drops in autumn. Metasequoia glyptostroboides 'Hamlet 's Broom' can grow in a wide range of soils, as long as they are well-drained, but prefers hummus-rich, moist, and well-drained soils. It thrives in full sun, but can tolerate partial shade. Low maintenance plant, doesn’t require pruning. Generally, pest-free and disease-free. Metasequoia glyptostroboides 'Hamlet 's Broom', with its small size and attractive foliage is a great-looking tree, perfect as a specimen plant and a nice addition to any garden.

About Us

During this time, we have developed a large stock of trees, mature evergreen shrubs, conifers, Japanese maples, cedars and olives. What sets us apart from a generic garden center is solid unwavering focus on trees and some bigger shrubs. You will find thousands of trees, hundreds of varieties and lots of experts who are working on the nursery and more than willing to help you to choose a plant for you.

What you will not find is hot tubs, garden furniture and plastic garden gnomes. In a nutshell, trees is what we know and trees is what we do, and only trees (and some shrubs to go with the trees).
