Miscanthus sinensis 'Flamingo' is a striking ornamental grass with variegated leaves that add interest to any garden. This deciduous grass forms a compact, rounded clump that grows up to 5 feet tall and 3 feet wide. The leaves of 'Flamingo' are narrow and arching, with creamy white margins that blush pink in cooler temperatures. In the fall, the foliage turns golden bronze, adding a warm glow to the landscape. In late summer to early fall, 'Flamingo' produces airy, reddish-pink plumes that rise above the foliage and sway gracefully in the breeze. The plumes persist well into winter, providing visual interest throughout the colder months. 'Flamingo' is easy to grow and low maintenance, tolerating a wide range of soil types and moisture levels. It prefers full sun but can also tolerate partial shade. This grass is perfect for use as a specimen plant, in mixed borders, or massed for a dramatic effect. It pairs well with other grasses, perennials, and shrubs, adding texture and movement to any garden. With its year-round interest and ease of care, Miscanthus sinensis 'Flamingo' is an excellent choice for any landscape.

Arundel Arboretum is a shrub and tree retail nursery with over 40 years of experience.

About Us

During this time, we have developed a large stock of trees, mature evergreen shrubs, conifers, Japanese maples, cedars and olives. What sets us apart from a generic garden center is solid unwavering focus on trees and some bigger shrubs. You will find thousands of trees, hundreds of varieties and lots of experts who are working on the nursery and more than willing to help you to choose a plant for you.

What you will not find is hot tubs, garden furniture and plastic garden gnomes. In a nutshell, trees is what we know and trees is what we do, and only trees (and some shrubs to go with the trees).
