Norfolk Island pine | Araucaria heterophylla - Height 80-100cm Width 40-50cm - 10lt

Norfolk Island Pine is an evergreen conifer grown here as a striking multistem specimen, with several trunks rising from the base to create a distinctive, layered silhouette. The foliage consists of soft, needle-like leaves arranged in symmetrical, horizontal tiers of branches, giving the tree a formal, architectural appearance reminiscent of a living Christmas tree. Branches radiate outward in distinct whorls, creating a tiered, geometric structure that remains visually interesting throughout the year. As a multistem, this tree develops a broader, more sculptural form than a single-trunked specimen, making it a strong focal point in larger gardens or open spaces. The consistent evergreen canopy provides year-round structure and colour, maintaining its presence through all seasons rather than offering a specific seasonal display. This species is best suited to coastal locations, where it shows good tolerance of salt-laden winds and sandy soils, making it a popular choice for seaside gardens. It prefers a sheltered, sunny position and well-drained soil. Due to its ultimate size and distinctive form, it works well as a specimen tree where its tiered branching and multistem structure can be fully appreciated from a distance.
