Plantain lily 'June' | Hosta June - Height 10-20cm Width 40-50cm - 3lt

Hosta 'June' is a herbaceous perennial that dies back completely in autumn and re-emerges in spring, forming a low, mounded clump of foliage. The heart-shaped leaves are the plant's main attraction, displaying a striking blue-green margin surrounding a central splash of creamy yellow that matures to pale gold as the season progresses, with the colour intensifying when grown in brighter light. The foliage has a slightly puckered texture and forms a dense, ground-covering mound that works well as edging or underplanting. In summer, pale lavender, bell-shaped flowers are produced on tall spikes held well above the foliage, adding a secondary point of interest, though the leaves remain the primary ornamental feature throughout the growing season. The plant is particularly valued for its foliage display from late spring through to early autumn, when the colour variegation is at its best. Hosta 'June' is well suited to shady or partially shaded borders and woodland-style planting schemes, and performs best in moist, humus-rich soil. It is a good choice for damp, sheltered spots in the garden where many other perennials may struggle, making it useful for adding colour and structure to shadier areas.
