European Plum ‘President’ is a vigorous, deciduous, fruit tree of an upright habit with oval, dark green leaves, white flowers, and large, round to oblong, edible, dark purple plum fruit with juicy yellow flesh, ripe in autumn. Plum ‘President’ prefers moderately fertile, neutral, sandy, loamy, moist, well-drained soils. It can adapt to other types of soil, except heavy-clay. It thrives in full sun and need at least 6 hours a day of sunlight. It is resistant to cold, but needs to be sheltered from harsh winds. Late frosts may damage the flower buds. A pollinator of a different variety blooming around the same time should be planted nearby. Some pruning is needed in spring. Late ripening and heavy-cropping plum available when other plums are no longer in season. This variety is a popular English plum, used mostly for cooking and drying but can also be eaten fresh. It has sweet and slightly acid flavour. Great for jams.

About Us

During this time, we have developed a large stock of trees, mature evergreen shrubs, conifers, Japanese maples, cedars and olives. What sets us apart from a generic garden center is solid unwavering focus on trees and some bigger shrubs. You will find thousands of trees, hundreds of varieties and lots of experts who are working on the nursery and more than willing to help you to choose a plant for you.

What you will not find is hot tubs, garden furniture and plastic garden gnomes. In a nutshell, trees is what we know and trees is what we do, and only trees (and some shrubs to go with the trees).
