Prunus 'Snow Showers' is a small, tough, neat, ornamental flowering cherry tree of a weeping habit. Its elegant pendulous branches are covered with masses of single, fragrant, snowy white flowers in April and May. The foliage is mid-green, turning yellow and fiery orange in autumn. Prunus 'Snow Showers' likes moderately fertile, deep, loamy, moist, well-drained soil, but can grow in various types of soil, except too wet and waterlogged. It thrives in full sun, but is tolerant of light shade. Resistant to frost, needs to be protected from harsh winds. Late frosts may damage the flower buds. Tolerant of urban conditions, therefore, suitable for growing in cities. Low maintenance-plant, doesn’t require much pruning. This beautiful and elegant weeping cherry, with its cascade effect, lovely white flowers, and attractive autumn foliage, is perfect as a specimen plant in small, informal, cottage and urban gardens. It is excellent for planting in urban areas. Suitable for growing in containers.

Arundel Arboretum is a shrub and tree retail nursery with over 40 years of experience.

About Us

During this time, we have developed a large stock of trees, mature evergreen shrubs, conifers, Japanese maples, cedars and olives. What sets us apart from a generic garden center is solid unwavering focus on trees and some bigger shrubs. You will find thousands of trees, hundreds of varieties and lots of experts who are working on the nursery and more than willing to help you to choose a plant for you.

What you will not find is hot tubs, garden furniture and plastic garden gnomes. In a nutshell, trees is what we know and trees is what we do, and only trees (and some shrubs to go with the trees).
