Rhododendron Percy Wiseman is a striking evergreen shrub known for its vibrant and attractive appearance, making it a popular choice in gardens and landscapes. This cultivar of rhododendron, part of the Ericaceae family, boasts stunning clusters of flowers that range in colour from rich salmon-pink to a delicate pale peach. These blooms are funnel-shaped and appear in early to mid-spring, offering a burst of colour when many other plants are still in the early stages of growth.
The foliage of Percy Wiseman is equally impressive, with dark, glossy green leaves that provide a beautiful backdrop to the striking flowers. The leaves are thick and leathery, characteristic of rhododendrons, and they offer year-round interest, especially during the colder months when many plants lose their foliage.
Reaching a mature height of around 1.2 to 1.5 metres (4 to 5 feet) and a spread of up to 1.8 metres (6 feet), Percy Wiseman is a medium-sized shrub that works well in a variety of settings, from mixed borders to woodland gardens. It thrives in acid, well-drained soil, and prefers partial shade, although it can tolerate full sun if given sufficient moisture.
One of the advantages of Percy Wiseman is its resistance to pests and diseases, making it relatively low-maintenance once established. Pruning is typically minimal, just to maintain shape and remove any dead or damaged growth.
Overall, Rhododendron Percy Wiseman is an exceptional choice for gardeners seeking a hardy, beautiful, and easy-to-care-for shrub that adds both colour and texture to the landscape throughout the year. Its unique flowering and evergreen qualities make it an enduring favourite in British gardens.

Arundel Arboretum is a shrub and tree retail nursery with over 40 years of experience.

About Us
During this time, we have developed a large stock of trees, mature evergreen shrubs, conifers, Japanese maples, cedars and olives. What sets us apart from a generic garden center is solid unwavering focus on trees and some bigger shrubs. You will find thousands of trees, hundreds of varieties and lots of experts who are working on the nursery and more than willing to help you to choose a plant for you.
What you will not find is hot tubs, garden furniture and plastic garden gnomes. In a nutshell, trees is what we know and trees is what we do, and only trees (and some shrubs to go with the trees).
