Tilia tomentosa is a large, deciduous tree of broad conical to rounded habit, with smooth, light-grey bark, ascending branches, and rounded, toothed, dark green leaves, silvery-white, felt-like underneath. The leaves turn yellow in autumn and remain on the tree for a long time. Clusters of small, very fragrant, creamy-white to yellow flowers bloom in summer. Valuable for birds, bees, and butterflies. Tilia tomentosa can adapt to a wide range of soil conditions, but prefers average, fertile, loamy, moist, well-drained soils in full sun or partial shade. Once established, it is resistant to drought. It can withstand frost and wind. Very tolerant of urban conditions. Generally, pest-free and disease-free. Low maintenance plant, doesn’t require pruning. Silver Lime is an attractive tree perfect for planting in cities – in parks, broad streets, avenues, and industrial areas. Great as a specimen, shade or lawn tree. Suitable for growing in containers on roof gardens.

About Us

During this time, we have developed a large stock of trees, mature evergreen shrubs, conifers, Japanese maples, cedars and olives. What sets us apart from a generic garden center is solid unwavering focus on trees and some bigger shrubs. You will find thousands of trees, hundreds of varieties and lots of experts who are working on the nursery and more than willing to help you to choose a plant for you.

What you will not find is hot tubs, garden furniture and plastic garden gnomes. In a nutshell, trees is what we know and trees is what we do, and only trees (and some shrubs to go with the trees).
