Viburnum opulus, commonly known as guelder rose or European cranberry bush, is a deciduous shrub native to Europe, Northern Africa, and Northern Asia. It belongs to the Adoxaceae family and is renowned for its ornamental beauty and medicinal properties. This plant has a rich history of folklore and practical uses, making it a beloved fixture in gardens and landscapes across the UK.
In appearance, Viburnum opulus typically grows to a height of 2-4 meters, forming a dense, rounded canopy of dark green, maple-like leaves that turn vibrant shades of red and purple in autumn. Its clusters of small, creamy white flowers bloom in late spring to early summer, attracting pollinators such as bees and butterflies. These flowers give way to translucent, bright red berries that persist into winter, providing food for birds and adding visual interest to the landscape.
Viburnum opulus is valued for its versatility and resilience. It thrives in a variety of soil types and light conditions, from full sun to partial shade, making it suitable for a range of garden settings. Its dense growth habit also makes it an excellent choice for hedging and screening.

About Us
During this time, we have developed a large stock of trees, mature evergreen shrubs, conifers, Japanese maples, cedars and olives. What sets us apart from a generic garden center is solid unwavering focus on trees and some bigger shrubs. You will find thousands of trees, hundreds of varieties and lots of experts who are working on the nursery and more than willing to help you to choose a plant for you.
What you will not find is hot tubs, garden furniture and plastic garden gnomes. In a nutshell, trees is what we know and trees is what we do, and only trees (and some shrubs to go with the trees).
