Picea abies 'Pygmaea', commonly known as Dwarf Norway Spruce, is a charming miniature conifer that brings structure and year-round greenery to any garden. Growing to an ultimate height of 3 to 4 feet with a similar spread, this dwarf spruce cultivar forms a compact, globular shape. Its dense branches are covered with short, sharp, dark green needles that offer a lush texture and a robust appearance.
Ideal for small garden spaces, rock gardens, or as a foundational planting in a dwarf conifer collection, the Dwarf Norway Spruce thrives various conditions, from dry to wet. It prefers full sun to partial shade and requires well-drained soil to prevent root rot. Once established, it is relatively low maintenance, needing only occasional watering during dry periods and minimal pruning to maintain its neat, rounded form. This slow-growing, evergreen shrub is also frost-resistant, making it a versatile and durable addition to temperate landscapes.

Arundel Arboretum is a shrub and tree retail nursery with over 40 years of experience.
About Us
During this time, we have developed a large stock of trees, mature evergreen shrubs, conifers, Japanese maples, cedars and olives. What sets us apart from a generic garden center is solid unwavering focus on trees and some bigger shrubs. You will find thousands of trees, hundreds of varieties and lots of experts who are working on the nursery and more than willing to help you to choose a plant for you.
What you will not find is hot tubs, garden furniture and plastic garden gnomes. In a nutshell, trees is what we know and trees is what we do, and only trees (and some shrubs to go with the trees).
